About U.S. Army Cyber Command

The U.S. Army Cyber Command (ARCYBER) is the Army’s operational-level headquarters responsible for defending Army networks and conducting cyberspace operations. It is headquartered at Fort Gordon, Georgia, and reports directly to the Army Chief of Staff. ARCYBER was activated in 2010 to provide full-spectrum cyberspace capabilities to ensure the Army’s ability to operate and defend the network, provide support to combatant commanders, and support the nation’s insitutions. The mission of ARCYBER is to “Direct and conduct integrated Electronic Warfare, Information Operations, and Cyberspace Operations as authorized or directed, to ensure freedom of action in and through cyberspace and the information environment and to deny the same to our adversaries.” ARCYBER employs a joint force of soldiers, civilians, and contractors, who work to protect Army networks and provide offensive cyber capabilities when needed. The command works closely with other military and government agencies, such as the NSA and FBI, to defend against cyber threats and protect critical infrastructure. In addition to its defensive and offensive capabilities, ARCYBER also supports Army training and education efforts, and conducts research and development to stay ahead of emerging threats in cyberspace.
